Dale Ervin Christner

Dale Ervin Christner passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026 at the age of 81 at his home in Herington, Kansas.

He was born on January 14, 1945 in Herington, Kansas to Frank and Una (Borell) Christner. He served his country in the military and was a tank commander while stationed in Germany.

He spent the majority of life self-employed in several different adventures primarily his salvage business that he built from the ground up in Herington, Ks. Prior to that he cut and baled hay around the area, as well as highway construction.

He was married to Dorothy May (Schnell) Christner who preceded him in death in 1974. He later married Nancy Christner who worked by his side in the salvage business. Later divorcing.

Proceeding him in death are his parents Frank and Una Christner and a sister Alma Busch.

Survivors include son Jason Christner of Topeka; Daughter Tonya Carroll of El Dorado; grandchildren Katie and Kyler Christner, Erin Johnson, Christopher Jones, Melinda Small, Bradley Carnley great grandchilden Joshua, Dustin, Rachel Small, Cutler Jones, and nieces Becky Phillips and Teresa Closs both of Texas.

We will have a gathering down at the Junk Yard at a later date where friends and family can gather to tell their stories as we scatter his ashes in his favorite place.
